About

Who we are, how we test, and why this site exists.

Why Wrestling Fit Lab Exists

Live search results for "wrestling shoes" are dominated by brands, retailers, marketplaces, and community video content — not independent blogs. A site that just rewrites what's already ranking will not win that keyword, no matter how well-optimized the prose is.

The opening that does exist: brands and retailers openly disagree about which models fit wide feet and how much to size up. WrestlingMart calls the Nike Freek naturally wide; some wrestlers online say Nike runs narrow; RUDIS says the Colt 4.0 Wide is true to size; independent testers report some RUDIS models feel snug. Nobody has published a standardized, cross-brand measurement of the same claim.

So this project is not a generic wrestling-shoes blog. It is a fit-and-sizing lab: a cross-brand resource built on real measurements (forefoot width, insole length, weight, break-in behavior), real tester profiles (wide feet, women, youth, beginners), and a published, repeatable test method.

How We Test

Every fit claim on this site comes from the same repeatable protocol:

We publish the full methodology on our How We Test page, including the measurement rig, tester profiles, and scoring system.

Who We Are

We write as the Wrestling Fit Lab Test Team — a small, opinionated house voice. Think: a former club wrestling coach who has fitted hundreds of pairs on hundreds of different feet, working alongside a data-minded equipment manager who owns calipers and a scale and actually uses them, plus regular input from parents and wrestlers who show up with the exact foot shape a given article is about.

This is a house voice, not a fabricated identity. We do not invent named reviewers with fake credentials. Once the site is staffed, real named authors and testers will be credited here.

Editorial Independence

We are an independent publication. No brand sponsors our content. When we recommend a shoe, it is because the measurements and tester feedback support it. When we criticize one, the same evidence backs that up.

Some pages include affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. This never affects what we recommend or how we score a product. Our affiliate disclosure appears before the first monetized link on every page.
